Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator
Summary: Develop, manage, and oversee worksite placements for paid work experience, internships, and other work-based learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, screen, and approve worksites in alignment with WIOA and HGCY criteria.
- Conduct worksite inspections and ensure youth-friendly, safe environments.
- Support employers with onboarding, supervision guidelines, and agreements.
- Monitor youth placements to ensure skill-building and occupational exposure.
- Track and document skills attainment.
- Coordinate and process youth timekeeping and payroll.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s degree OR 2+ years of experience in employer relations, HR, or workforce programs.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and supervision standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with employers and community partners.
- Understanding of occupational skills frameworks and training alignment.
- Strong organizational and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base, with the ability to be culturally sensitive
- Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them towards achieving goals
- Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures
- Experience in Workforce development
- Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
- Ability to meet and/or exceed set goals and objectives;
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, both oral and written, required
- Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess and provide a valid Texas Driver’s License and Automobile Liability Insurance as required by the State of Texas.
- Must have access to reliable transportation in order to travel within service area.

- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of the job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; for long periods of time. Employee must be able to drive for extended periods of time. Employees must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, must be able to set up display area.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast-paced, demanding both, physically and mentally, and in constant communication.
