Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator

Temporary Position – 5-Month Assignment (April–August)

Number of Positions: 4 Temporary Openings

Position Overview

This is a temporary, grant-funded position scheduled to run approximately five (5) months, from April through August. Four (4) temporary Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinators will be hired to support seasonal youth work experience and internship initiatives.

Continuation of employment beyond the temporary assignment period is not guaranteed and is subject to program needs and funding availability.

Purpose

Develop, manage, and oversee worksite placements for paid work experience, internships, and other work-based learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, screen, and approve worksites in alignment with WIOA and HGCY criteria.
  • Conduct worksite inspections and ensure youth-friendly, safe environments.
  • Support employers with onboarding, supervision guidelines, and worksite agreements.
  • Monitor youth placements to ensure skill-building and occupational exposure.
  • Track and document skills attainment.
  • Coordinate and process youth timekeeping and payroll.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Associate’s degree OR two (2) years of experience in employer relations, HR, or workforce programs.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and supervision standards.

Preferred Skills

Experience working with employers and community partners.

Understanding of occupational skills frameworks and training alignment.

Strong organizational and negotiation skills.

Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity.

Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them toward achieving goals.

Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.

Experience in workforce development.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer literacy.

Ability to meet and/or exceed established goals and objectives.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills (oral and written).

Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
